Night-Fall |
|||||||
In the
quiet of the dream-song; This
is the lotus of white flame Burning
inwardly, intense, strong. This
is the apple-tree orchard Under
the light-and-shade of sky; And then
this is the dragon-bird As though
it shall never wake, fly. This
is the grain of mortal fear Horrid,
thrown by the hand of Death; This
is the vale of no return: Once
trapped the soul would sink beneath. This
is the fishermen’s wharf, old, In
the network of the night’s tide, -- Indeed
this is the miracle-world By the
unknown power being tried. |
The
Calm Blue |
||||||
From
the dome of the sky; Blue
of their sound tells The hush
passing by. Curving
through the dreams A tremulous
ray; All the
stars, it seems, Building
the skyway. Time
is a wild horse Of unspoken
hue; Through
that bodied force Gallops
the calm Blue. |
